Academic Enrichment Programs 

Academic Enrichment programs offer advance teaching of learning concepts taught in school. These programs compliment learning in engaging new ways.

Reading Club w/ Community Kids

The Virtual Reading Club meets on Tuesday & Thursday evenings for 30 minutes. The mobile friendly lessons are designed for students K-8 and aligned with common-core ELA standards. The goals of the reading club are to get students excited about reading, strengthen important literacy skills needed at each grade level such as reading fluency and comprehension, and help students reach word count & AR goals!

Line4Line @ Merrydale Elementary

Line4Line is piloting an immersive creative literacy program at Merrydale Elementary, working with all grades and classes each week throughout the year. This unique program supports students K-5 to develop print motivation, practice SEL, explore creativity, build agency, and attain joy.

Big Buddy Program 

We are fully back in person serving in 8 different schools this year! (Highland Elementary, CSAL Elementary, St. Francis Xavier, IDEA Bridge, Southern Lab, Progress Elementary, Glen Oaks High, and Northdale. Working with over 400 youth this school year!

The Gardere Initiative 

The Gardere Initiative partnered with BREC for a $350,000 renovation of the Hartley/Vey Park that serves as a hub for the Gardere community.
